Ariya Rest House

Wow, thankfully our driver knew this amazing open air spot. The food was fantastic. There were 3 rice options, noodles, potatoes, a wide variety of vegetables and a really nice sweet chicken and another spicy chicken option. Of course the traditional curd and trecle with a bananas or fruit salad was there for dessert. It was quite hot out so they sat us under a fan which was surprisingly effective on a very hot day. The hostess was so welcoming and kind. Grateful for the hot lunch with so much yummy flavour. Even if you like spice, I recommend you try thr sweet chicken. Absolutely delightful!

Our tuk tuk driver recommended this place for lunch. They serve very affordable buffet (LKR 2500 per person) with excellent food. This was probably the best meal we had so far on our trip in Sri Lanka.

Went for lunch. Our group had 15+ persons. They have arranged nice table for all of us. Their buffet is worth every penny. Wide range of items available and everything was super delicious. Reasonable price. Would recommend anyone who is looking for authentic lunch experience at Polonnaruwa.

We stayed at Ariya Resort in Polonnaruwa for one night and had a really nice experience. The room was large, very clean, and had plenty of space. They also provided tea bags, sugar, cups, and a water boiler, which made it easy to enjoy tea in the room. The resort has a lovely swimming pool, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, with good portion sizes. The location is quiet and peaceful, yet still close to Polonnaruwa town, which is very convenient. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we highly recommend Ariya Resort for anyone visiting the area.
