Arpico Super Centre - Negombo

It’s a great one stop place for your groceries with varieties with fair pricing even though some stuffs maybe missing if you’re from other countries and the customer service is not good enough.

Brought a Icecream tub. All melted. Recommended temp -18 but they store it open freezer... Iceream coane Arpico brand not crispy. Toomuch yellow colour ... Staff are not friendly. Keep a gang and talking unprofessionally.. No nice uniform.. Should maintain professionalism. Teach staff how to behave nicely.

We have been visiting this Arpico since my elder son was a toddler (2009) so we have good memories. Things have changed since then. There used to be a clothes section but it is non-existent now. Nevertheless, compared to other supermarkets the variety that Arpico offers is huge. Many products can be bought under one roof. Groceries, Stationery, Toys, Household items and Electronics in the ground floor with furniture being in the first floor. In addition to this, there is a café, a liquor store, a pharmacy, a cosmetics shop, a snacks stand and finally a balloon corner. There is an ice cream stall near the entrance. The photos and videos we took provide a comprehensive outlook. Due to Negombo being a tourist destination, many foreigners visit this place. For their convenience, a wide variety of imported items are available. Most credit cards, including American Express cards, are accepted. The shelves are well-stocked, with nice air-conditioning. Good Bakery. Their bread provides amazing value for money. It is large and superior quality for just LKR 130. Sausage pastries are delicious as well. Multiple discounts on various items are available. The terms and conditions are transparent, we appreciate Arpico for not enforcing cunning terms and conditions like Cargills does. We are impressed by their interactive e-tabloid. It feels like you are actually flipping through the pages. There are 10+ cashier counters available, preventing queues. However, some negatives can be seen as well, especially regarding their 8 pcs fried chicken bucket priced at LKR 1,890 in their café. Even though the chicken were in a warming showcase, it was not that hot. Luckily, staff were kind and reheated it for us. A mayonnaise dip was provided with the fried chicken. Still, we feel that the 8 pcs fried chicken bucket is poor value for money; As shown in the photo, some parts were undercooked, with the chicken having excessive coating. We felt manipulated as the promised pieces were missing. Only wings were given, no thighs or breasts. Another concern are the toilets. They were in bad condition. Arpico should definitely maintain these better. There is some uncertainty about opening hours. It is mentioned 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the entrance but on Google Maps it is written as 08:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Keeri Samba Rice sacks were unavailable. We eventually found rice from the Seeduwa branch though. The snacks stand is called "Nuts and Murrukku". Looks good quality but it is expensive. Electronics are overpriced too. For example, we bought a kitchen scale for around LKR 1,000 on Daraz. That same kitchen scale is LKR 3,000 at Arpico. Fish and meat looked old. Good collection, but the freshness was questionable. Some fridges storing perishable items like frozen short eats were open, possibly affecting food quality. The loyalty scheme is not that much impressive when compared to Keells as the discounts offered on the card are comparatively low. 1 point is earned for every LKR 200 spent. Like previous reviewers mentioned, there used to be a Commercial Bank ATM but now it has been relocated, causing inconvenience for those customers who prefer to obtain banking services such as cash withdrawals while shopping.

Disgusting experience. I had very disappointing experiences at Arpico Shopping Centre. The customer service was extremely poor and the staff behaved in a very egoistic manner. They were not friendly or helpful at all, which made the whole shopping experience uncomfortable. Even at the bag counter, the service was careless and unwelcoming. As a customer, I expected basic politeness and support, but unfortunately, that was completely missing. I hope they improve their attitude and treat customers with more respect in the future.

Very disappointing experience. The service is terrible, and the workers behave as if customers are coming to beg from them rather than paying customers. The staff, especially the girls at the counters, don’t even know how to smile or greet customers properly. The bakery section is the worst. The tables are dirty and unhygienic, not cleaned at all, with flies all over the place. It feels very uncomfortable to buy food from such an unclean environment. The staff at the bakery counter keep talking among themselves instead of asking customers what they want. There is no attention, no basic courtesy, and no sense of professionalism. Orders are taken with an attitude, and customers are made to feel unwelcome. Overall, poor hygiene, rude behavior, lack of customer service, and zero management control. This place seriously needs better training, cleanliness, and respect for customers.
