Dr. Dhammika Wijesundara at Osro Hospital, Mawanella is an exceptional doctor whom I would highly recommend. He is not only highly knowledgeable and professional, but also extremely polite and compassionate in his approach. What stood out the most was the time he takes to carefully listen and clearly explain every detail to the patient, ensuring you fully understand your condition and treatment options. He is very conservative in his approach, avoiding unnecessary treatments and always prioritising the patient’s wellbeing. His calm and reassuring manner makes you feel comfortable and confident in the care you receive. It is rare to find a doctor who combines expertise with such genuine kindness and respect for patients. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality and trustworthy medical care.

Today I visited Dr. Pushpa Kanthan (VOG) for an appointment. Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with one of the nurses. She allowed known/favored patients to enter ahead of others without following the token/number order. When we politely asked about this, she responded with an unprofessional attitude and behaved as if nothing was wrong. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a private hospital, where patients expect fairness, respect, and proper management. I hope the hospital administration will take this concern seriously and ensure better patient handling in the future.

I called Hospital, Mawanella to make an urgent appointment for a VOG consultation. Unfortunately, there was no doctor available at that moment, so I asked the receptionist (in Sinhala) if any VOG doctor was available. She said that the doctors had already come and left. Then I continued the conversation in English and asked if she could suggest any other available doctors. Instead of responding, she suddenly hung up the call. After that, I kept calling the hospital more than five times, but no one answered. This is extremely unprofessional behavior for a hospital. Receptionists play an important role, especially when patients have urgent needs. They should be polite, responsive, and able to handle communication in different languages. It seemed like she did not understand English or did not understand what I was trying to ask. I kindly request the Dr. Vibhash P. Wijeratne to look into this matter and ensure that trained, professional receptionists are available to provide proper assistance to patients.

I am disappointed with the service provided by the office staff. We requested important details related to an insurance claim, but unfortunately, we did not receive the necessary support or cooperation. If you are relying on a cashless facility through an insurance company, I would not recommend this hospital based on our experience.
