Gaia-Ella Ecolodge and Yoga Center

I had a wonderful stay at Gaia Ella. This place feels truly magical up in the mountains with an amazing view. Doing morning yoga and having breakfast here has been one of the highlights of my trip so far. Everyone was so warm, welcoming, and helpful. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Ella! I was also lucky enough to visit a local school where we did yoga, breath-work, and a sound bath with the kids which was so much fun! Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

This was my first yoga experience, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to start. The instructors were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making beginners feel comfortable from the very beginning. The view from the yoga studio is absolutely beautiful. I also love that part of the class fee supports local schools, so your visit helps the community too. I truly impressed. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking to try yoga in Ella. It was a wonderful experience!

This place is so much more than just a hostel, it’s a beautiful community in the most breathtaking setting. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. Everyone is incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely cares about making your stay special. They offer lots of activities, including cooking classes (which I highly recommend!), yoga, and volunteering day trips to local villages and schools. What we loved most is how much this place gives back to the local community. All the proceeds from the yoga classes go towards supporting a nearby school, and we joined one of the day trips to visit it and have lunch with a local family. It was such a meaningful experience. We also ended up eating every meal at the hostel because the food was honestly so good. They serve delicious local dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at really reasonable prices. Even if you’re not staying here, it’s worth coming just to eat. I would absolutely love to come back. It was such a special experience, and the view… simply incredible!!♥️

What an amazing stay! One of the highlights of my trip. The most beautiful hostel with the loveliest staff and such breathtaking views! The rooms were clean and very comfortable and all the food was delicious. Location was still very central to town but also tucked away in the gorgeous mountains. We even got to visit a local school to do some yoga with kids and have some lunch with a local family afterwards, which was the most special experience. Shout out to Suzie and Hannah for making such a memorable stay! Couldn’t recommend this hostel more if you’re looking for a unique experience of Ella!

Went for a yoga class and it was absolutely amazing. The teacher (who was also the founder of the place) gave such a good class, talking about fundamentals and philosophy. The practice made me feel so good. Also the shala is beautiful with wonderful view over the mountains. Highly recommend !! Update of my thoughts 2 days later : I’ve just experienced an absolutely incredible day of volunteering. We visited a school in a small village a few kilometers away, spent time with the children, and shared some truly unforgettable moments. It felt like stepping out of time and connecting with something genuinely meaningful. The day also included lunch with a local family and a visit to a beautiful waterfall, making the whole experience even more special. The organization was outstanding from start to finish, creating something that benefits everyone involved. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to contribute and make yourself useful, even in a small way. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the yoga classes here are fantastic. The shala is open to nature, creating a peaceful atmosphere, and the teachers are exceptional. I absolutely love this place and recommend it 200%. In fact, it’s one of the main reasons I’ve decided to extend my stay in Ella.
