I recently stayed at the Regal Reseau Hotel in Negombo, and I have to say—the location and vibe are absolutely fantastic.
First off, the lovely Negombo beach view is a major highlight. Whether you're waking up to golden sunrise over the Indian Ocean or just relaxing with a coffee on the balcony, the scenery is postcard-perfect. The hotel sits close enough to the shore that you feel the sea breeze constantly, and the vibe is laid-back yet lively—ideal for travelers who want both relaxation and a bit of energy.
But the real star of our stay was the rooftop party. We had a gathering up there one evening, and it was everything you’d hope for—great music, cool ocean breeze, and a panoramic view of the coastline. The sound system was solid, the playlist was on point, and the atmosphere turned electric as the sun set. It’s the kind of place where you can easily go from a chill sunset drink to dancing under the stars with friends.
The overall vibe of the hotel is trendy and upbeat but still feels warm and welcoming. Staff were accommodating, and the rooftop space is clearly designed for exactly this kind of fun yet intimate social scene.

We really liked this hotel. The room was great - spacious with an amazing sea view. the bed was huge and quite comfortable. We really appreciated the usb sockets on both side of the bed. We loved their rooftop pool. It is large enough for swimming, the views are gorgeous. When checking in, they gave us juice and chilled towels.
We stayed here for one night before an early flight. A car from the hotel cost 22 usd and took 20 min (at 4 am). They packed us takeaway breakfast for us at no additional charge (banana, boiled egg, sandwich, juice and two pieces of cake).
Only about ~12 loungers at the pool, it seemed too little for the size of the hotel. If I understand correctly, their prices on the menu are before tax (at least that is what our waiter told us). And they also add 10% service fee. That is quite common in Sri Lanka but we were shocked with the tax thing. E.g. we were supposed to pay 8600 rupees (the price on the menu), but the bill was almost 12000.

The location was beautiful, with stunning ocean views and direct access to the beach. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful seaside getaway.

We stayed on a half-board basis (dinner and breakfast). The rooms were very clean, and the overall environment was calm and relaxing. Although the food variety was limited, every dish was exceptionally delicious and well-prepared. I was truly delighted with the quality and taste of the meals.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, making our stay even more pleasant. There was a rooftop DJ event at night, which added some entertainment. Since the hotel is located entirely within a building, the view of the hotel is pretty much limited ( No walking areas). But the beach is conveniently located just about 100 meters away.
Overall, our stay was definitely worth the money. I would, however, suggest adding some seating areas (sofas or chairs) on each floor to provide guests with a comfortable space to relax and chat.

Regal Réseau Hotel & Spa is a very comfortable and polished place to stay, especially if you want something modern and easy near the coast. The hotel feels clean, well run, and thoughtfully designed from the moment you walk in.
The rooms are spacious, bright, and well maintained, with comfortable beds and good amenities that make it easy to relax after a long day out. Everything felt orderly and quiet, which added to the sense of comfort during the stay.
One of the standout features is the rooftop area. The pool is excellent, with great views and a relaxed atmosphere that works equally well during the day or in the evening. It is a perfect spot to unwind, especially after travelling or sightseeing.
The staff were professional, friendly, and efficient, always happy to help when needed without being intrusive. The spa facilities also add a nice extra layer to the experience, especially if you want to properly switch off for a bit.
The only complaint I have about the hotel is that the elevator was very slow and considering we were on the higher floors, we opted to walk instead.
Regal Réseau strikes a good balance between comfort, convenience, and quality service, making it a solid choice for anyone staying in the Negombo area.
